I just LOVE that we have the opportunity to celebrate Rosh Hashana just before the countdown of the last 100 days of 2021!!!
.
The Jewish New Year kicks off the High Holidays in the fall with both celebration AND introspection. I feel like I can use a whole lot of both in order to center and ground myself before we barrel headlong into the coming season. How about you?
.
I sought peace and presence in My Baker’s Meditation, mixing and kneading and shaping this lovely loaf of Honey Apple Challah. I’ve never baked a bread with so much honey mixed into the dough before, so it was the perfect chance to really focus on how it felt under my hands and fingers at every stage of the process.
.
Apples are dipped in honey to symbolize the sweetness we all desire in the coming year. The bread is also round to represent The Creator, in Whom there is no Beginning, nor End, as well as eternal life.
.
What sweetness are you seeking to create in the coming year?
